We are not Bed&Breakfast or an Hotel, so what is self-catering?

Self-catering is not having to get up at a set time for breakfast so if you fancy a lovely long lie-in, or even breakfast in bed, it’s possible. You don’t have to worry about the time for other meals either you simply cook your own.
Self-catering gives you complete freedom to come and go as you please and to eat when you want and what you want.

Casa Terracotta’s kitchen is well equipped and practical to use.
There is no better way to sample the local produce than to purchase it at one of the local markets or shops, bring it home and cook it to your own taste. And you know exactly what you are eating.
You have complete control of all your holiday activities; no need to creep back at night-time either!
You have your own key and Casa Terracotta is yours for the duration of your stay.

Kettle, toaster, microwave, hotplate, oven/grill, fridge with freezer box, pots and pans its all there!

There is also the possibility of purchasing fresh eggs locally or seasonal vegetables from Suzanne’s plot or from local organic growers. She will also get basic supplies in for you if necessary. And of course the Region has a wealth of well know food stuffs; Barilla pasta, Balsamico vinegar from Modena, Parma ham and cheese and also culatello and Felino salame, mortadella and ragu from Bologna, pancetta and coppa from Piacenza and for the less squeamish tender and sweet horse meat from Bardi. Oh yes and not forgetting Borgotaro’s mushrooms.

Tea-towels, oven-mits and an apron are available and the kitchen is also equipped with a smoke detector and fire blanket.

There is no need to purchase water as there is an abundant supply of fresh mineral water. Masanti’s water is bottled and exported world wide, you will also find it in many restaurants.
